During a troubleshooting process last week, Gemini spontaneously created a quiz about Python and physics for me. I was surprised. Since I’m also very receptive to quizzes, I took part.

The topic wouldn’t let me go. So last night I had another Linux quiz created. Right in that chat room where I’d already written a lot. At first, it was an easy quiz, but later you could switch to a harder one. The questions weren’t easy, but still solvable. The good thing is that you get the answers immediately.

Just imagine, AI, any kind, can access the entire internet. Everything we’ve ever entered online, hopefully correctly, is accessible to it. You can find even more information online than in those already thick books. I have to say, though, that books often explain a lot of unnecessary things. Sometimes there’s too much background information. That’s not inherently bad, but as a learner, you don’t really want to know exactly who invented what right at the beginning.

Anyway, I did both quizzes yesterday, and I’m really impressed. You could also have a website created where you could see your chat history in a graphic format. I can’t show it now because it contains some private information.

The best part was that I could have an audio file created that was also available for download. The file is 6:19 minutes long and covers the Linux topics Sigterm vs. Sigkill and Inode. The really interesting thing is that it’s a conversation between a man and a woman. It sounds so authentic, as if they were sitting in a radio studio.

It sounds authentic because the man also makes those „hmm“ sounds when the woman speaks the introductory text. At first, I thought my speaker was broken. I hadn’t listened to the whole thing yet because I was a little tired.

Gemini created the file within 5 to 7 minutes.

Future of learning

But that will be the future of learning. It will always be a supplementary form, I think. It would be perfect if you wanted to review the material again in the evening. I still enjoy learning from books, too. But how often do you put the book down or your mind wander? Especially when looking for a quiz, you often search in vain. Sure, you can create one yourself and then not look at it for two weeks before taking it. By then, you’ve forgotten the answers. But can you always be sure that you’ve entered the answers correctly, that you’ve actually understood them?

Furthermore, the AI ​​remains fairly up-to-date.

Journey into the past

We all know them. School textbooks. We always cursed the book that had already passed through what felt like 20 students‘ hands, because the information was already outdated. Then, if we were lucky, we were allowed to keep the textbook because we were in the last year. But who didn’t learn about the GDR in school, even though it had long since become absolute?

Of course, one could argue that the data on the internet could be entirely fabricated. But that’s a human problem. Books, too, can contain misinformation or manipulated material. We’ve seen this twice in German history, where the whole truth wasn’t presented. And whether everything published today is actually true remains to be seen.

Truth of information

In Germany, for example, foreign countries are still portrayed in a very negative light. If you were to trust all media, whether public broadcasters or new media, then things are generally bad abroad. France is supposedly on the verge of bankruptcy. That’s what they’re claiming. I need figures, data, facts to back this up. Where do people get this information? Or do they just read it online? I can’t imagine they have all the statistics analysed.

I also read a sentence in the latter article stating that it’s now impossible to live in France. What is this statement based on? Is life practically impossible in every village in the provinces as well? Or are only the cities being discussed here? Everything is being kept so secret.

This small example is only meant to illustrate that practically nothing can be trusted. I hope that an AI will also have, or will have, such a check that questions what is written by humans.

Or one dismisses such statements when furthering one’s education in this field. In my area of ​​Linux, the „laws“ are set in stone. Anyone pursuing further education with political themes has a hard time, and always has.

Auf Deutsch

Im Laufe eines Troubleshootings processes hatte mir Gemini in der letzten Woche ganz spontan ein Quiz über Python und Physik erstellt. Ich war da erstaunt. Da ich auch sehr empfänglich für Quizze bin, hatte ich das gemacht. 

Das Thema ließ mich nicht mehr los. Also habe ich dann gestern Abend noch mal so ein Quiz über Linux erstellen lassen. Genau in diesem Chat, welchem ich schon viel geschrieben hatte. Erst war es noch ein einfaches Quiz, später konnte man auf ein schwierig umstellen. Die Fragen waren nicht ohne, aber immer noch lösbar. Das Gute daran ist, dass man die Lösung sofort bekommt. 

Das muss man sich mal vorstellen, die KI, egal welche, kann auf das gesamte Netz zugreifen. All das, was wir mal im Netz eingegeben haben und hoffentlich auch richtig, auf das kann sie zugreifen. Im Netz findet man ja noch einmal mehr als in den ohnehin schon dicken Büchern. Ich muss dazu sagen, in den Büchern wird oftmals sehr viel unnötig erklärt. Manchmal gibt es zu viel Hintergrundwissen. Ist im Prinzip nicht schlimm, nur als Lernende möchte man nicht so genau am Anfang wissen, wer was erfunden hat. 

Auf jeden Fall hatte ich dann gestern die beiden Quizze gemacht und ich bin sehr begeistert. Außerdem konnte man eine Webseite erstellen lassen, wo man seinen Chatverlauf anhand einer Grafik sehen konnte. Ich kann das jetzt nicht zeigen, weil da sind einige private Sachen drin. 

Der Clou war am Ende, dass ich mir eine Audio-Datei erstellen lassen konnte, die man sich auch downloaden konnte. Die Datei ist 6:19 Minuten lang und behandelt die Linux Spezialthemen Sigterm vs Sigkill und Inode. Der Clou daran ist, es ist eine Unterhaltung zwischen einem vermeintlichen Mann und einer Frau. Das hört sich so echt an, als säßen sie in einem Hörfunkstudio eines Radiosenders. 

Es hört sich echt an, weil der Mann macht auch diese “Hm” Töne, wenn die Frau den Eingangstext spricht. Ich dachte, erst mein Lautsprecher wäre kaputt. Ich hatte mir noch nicht alles angehört, weil ich war auch ein wenig müde. 

Die Datei hat Gemini innerhalb von 5 bis 7 Minuten erstellt. 

Zukunft des Lernens

Aber das wird die Zukunft des Lernens sein. Es wird immer eine begleitende Form sein, denke ich. Wenn man sich am Abend den Lernstoff noch einmal hineinziehen möchte, wäre es perfekt. Ich lerne auch noch gerne aus Büchern. Aber wie oft man das Buch doch zur Seite gelegt oder war mit den Gedanken noch woanders. Gerade nach einem Quiz sucht man oftmals vergeblich. Klar, man kann sich das selber erstellen und dann 14 Tage nicht anschauen und dann machen. Dann hat man die Lösungen vergessen. Aber kann man sich immer sein, dass man das eingeben hat, auch wirklich verstanden hat? 

Außerdem bleibt die KI auf einem ziemlich aktuellen Stand. 

Ausflug in die Vergangenheit

Wir kennen doch alle. Schulbücher. Wir haben das Buch, welches schon durch gefühlt 20 Schülerhände gegangen ist, immer ein wenig verflucht, weil die Angaben waren schon veraltet. Dann durften wird dann, wenn man Glück hatte, das Schulbuch behalten, weil man im letzten Jahrgang war. Aber wer hat nicht in der Schule noch die DDR gelernt, obwohl sie schon längst absolut war? 

Natürlich kann man argumentieren, dass die Daten im Internet auch frei erfunden sein können. Das ist aber ein menschliches Problem. Auch in Büchern können Fehlinformationen drin stehen, oder manipulierte Sachen. Wir hatten das in der deutschen Geschichte schon zweimal, wo nicht die gesamte Wahrheit drin stand. Und ob heutzutage alles die Wahrheit ist, was veröffentlicht wird, bleibt mal dahin gestellt. 

Wahrheit von Informationen

In Deutschland wird zum Beispiel das Ausland immer noch als sehr schlecht dargestellt. Würde man allen Medien vertrauen, egal ob ÖRR oder neue Medien, ist es im Ausland grundsätzlich schlecht. Frankreich stünde jetzt kurz vor dem Staatsbankrott. Das wird behauptet. Ich brauche dafür Zahlen, Daten, Fakten. Woher wissen die Leute das? Oder lesen sie aus den Online-Nachrichten? Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass sie alle Statistiken auswerten lassen. 

Ich hatte noch letzteres einen Satz gelesen, dass man jetzt in Frankreich gar nicht wohnen könne. Worauf beruht dieser Satz? In jedem Dorf in der Provinz ist das Leben auch schier unmöglich? Oder werden hier nur die Städte behandelt? Alles wird so verheimlicht. 

Das kleine Beispiel soll nur dazu dienen, dass man eigentlich praktisch nichts vertrauen kann. Ich hoffe, dass eine KI hoffentlich auch so eine Prüfung innehat oder innehaben wird, dass sie das menschlich geschriebene infrage stellt. 

Oder solche Aussagen beiseite schiebt, wenn man sich in diesem Gebiet weiterbildet. In meinem Bereich von Linux da sind die “Gesetze” in Stein gemeißelt. Wer Weiterbildung mit politischen Themen hat es schwer und er hatte es schon immer sehr schwer.
