Fedora 23
I just installed Fedora 23 on my fathers‘ computer. Windows 10 is now past. I did not want to have it and work with Linux operating system here. I attempted to install Debian 8, but it did not recognize the network interface card so that I did not know what I should do. Furthermore, I disrupted the installation and I decided to install Fedora 23. It was only a Net-Installation and not a complete DVD so that I have the newest system here.
Fedora 23 with Gnome 3.18 is very nice. But the only problem is that Fedora 23 does not have the program „pdftk“. It’s a program on the command-line for connecting pdf-files very fast. Now I have installed a graphical program (but I know in most cases you can work in the command-line, too). It’s very important for me for connecting all my certificates for the job application.
For installing programs, you must use „yum“ in the command-line. In openSUSE it´s „zypper“, in Mageia „urmpi“ and in Debian/Ubuntu „apt-get“.
I feel good with Linux on this computer :-).
